175 municipalities and 368 beaches in Italy have been awarded a Blue Flag for 2018, the label provided by Danish NGO Foundation for Environmental Education.
New entries include Sellia Marina, Sorrento, Ispani, Cattolica, Peschici, Rodi Garganico and Marina dell’Orso di Poltu Quatu. Sites must comply with 32 criteria to be awarded a Blue Flag: sea, waste disposal, sewage treatment and land management.
 

200 Korean passengers landed in an A330 at Palermo’s Falcone Borsellino Airport, on the first of three direct Korean Airlines flights linking Sicily’s capital to Seoul. The airport located at Punta Raisi is now the third largest in South Italy after those of Catania and Naples, and for the summer season, it is planning 21 new routes, with almost one million more seats to and from Palermo. There are 97 routes in all  flying to and from 21 countries.

Milan, the capital of tax free shopping

Tax free shopping is on the increase in Milan, Italy’s most popular city among foreign tourists on the hunt for luxury goods.
According to data presented today by Global Blue, Lombardy’s capital posted an 8% increase in sales of luxury goods in 2017, mainly thanks to the performance of the streets in the Quadrilatero della moda, with via Montenapoleone alone generating 65% of sales in the upscale shopping area.
